Valentine’s Day.. it used to be a time when you would send your crush a card, signed with a simple “?”.. I mean, whilst it might be quite exciting.. what’s the point, right?! They have no idea it’s you that’s purchased this lovely gift and card, it all seems a bit silly! These days, not only can you treat your crush (with your name signed firmly on the card, I hope!) but we have “Galentines” – where you treat your besties, and you can even buy a gift for your sibling, parents, or co-worker! My most favourite? Treating… well, myself! In the wise words of Twin Peak’s Dale Cooper “you must give yourself a present each day”, and whether that’s a simple coffee or a piece of cake.. it rings true on Valentine’s Day too!
I have always been known to treat myself on Valentine’s, especially when I was single! So, when Boots got in touch and asked if I’d like to look through their great Valentine’s Day Gifts, of course, I jumped at the chance! Valentine’s Day isn’t only about your crush though…
See, the thing is.. you can buy a gift for everyone in Boots and on their website which is perfect for all those people you might want to treat this Valentine’s day! So, what did I choose?
Mac Lipstick
This is a little “to me, from me” gift. I love lipsticks and I love Mac, so it’s great that they are stocked by Boots! It makes it much easier to get hold of the brand and use your Boots Advantage Card points too. I find that a new lipstick can really spruce up how I feel about myself, it’s something a little different for my everyday makeup and helps brighten up my day-to-day look. This shade is the perfect natural, but better, lip colour and there are so many offerings shade-wise. This would make a great gift for a gal pal too, you can’t beat a Mac lipstick!
Cosy Candle
Have you ever met someone that doesn’t enjoy a candle? Nope, me either! This is the perfect gift for anyone.. your Mum, sister, friend or crush! It smells divine and fresh linen will fill their home and remind them of you, how cute! Another item and brand I had no idea you could purchase at Boots, but great to know!
Makeup Brushes
This is by far the most helpful gift ever! I love gifting makeup brushes as I feel it’s definitely something you don’t buy for yourself. A really handy, useful gift that is also very practical! I use my makeup brushes every day, so it’s definitely something that will be cherished and great for applying that Valentine’s Day makeup look. This little kit by Real Techniques is great because you get a few different brushes – they are my favourite, affordable brush brand!
Perfume
So, the best is last… perfume! The greatest gift of all, am I right?! You can literally pick up so many different scents in Boots that there will be something for everyone in your life, if you’re feeling generous that is! This is Jimmy Choo – I want Choo, and it’s such a beautifully sweet but fresh scent. Plus, the bottle looks so pretty on my dressing table!
