Giving Up The Falsies

The truth is, I just don’t have the TIME!

If I could add up all the time spent on fiddling with false lashes, getting my fingers stuck together with the glue and to then only rip them off (and half my eyeliner…) in a angry mess.. I think I could probably think of a better way to have spent it. False eyelashes take time and if you’re anything like me, it’s just not something I’m willing to use my time tokens on.

So I guess that’s why a big part of me had to write this post. L’Oréal Paris got in touch and asked if I’d like to try out the new ‘False Lash X Fiber Xtreme Resist Waterproof Mascara‘ and let me tell you guys, it’s as amazing and life-proof as the name suggests. This mascara is enriched with fibres that attach themselves to your lashes, creating a look that rivals the falsies and gives you more time to spend doing the things you want to do.

The main benefits I found from this Mascara is that instantly my lashes looked longer and thicker, it took just one coat for me to see a massive difference and I got a few compliments too, which is always a bonus. It’s also build-able, so if you do prefer a more dramatic look just pop a few extra coats on. I’ve been trailing this all week now and I’m happy to report, no flaking or smudging… even when my face has been outside in the arctic British conditions. All in all, if you love the false lash look but hate applying them (and buying them!) then give this little gem a try.

We all know that sometimes the advertising of a product can seem amazing and it can let you down. This is why whenever I work with brands, I always put the product to the test and this one was no exception.

7am

Wake up, shower and apply makeup. I leave mascara until the end always and it made SUCH a difference. Eyes instantly look awake, which is always a bonus.

9am

I have some meetings in London and I have to catch a peak train, I’m gearing up for the sweat-fest. On the train I get pushed around a bit, look a bit of a mess but…

3.30pm

…when I return home I can tell you that my mascara is infact still in place. No smudges, it still looks exactly the same. Wish I could say the same for my hair!

6pm

I’ve done some work, rubbed my eyes ALOT & I’m about to have a shower. I like to steam my makeup & then remove, so I’m interested in seeing how this goes.

7pm

Post-shower I look into the mirror and can report mascara stayed put with NO panda-eyes. So it is indeed sweat and water proof, even after a busy day in the City.

11pm

Makeup removed easily considering how life-proof it is (love that!) and now it’s time for bed. I’m excited to do my makeup tomorrow, and that’s saying something…
