Easy Jolly Cocktails

What’s better at this time of year than some super easy and very festive cocktails? Not much, let me tell you! Here’s how you can make some of your own…

I love a cocktail. A little bit of Smirnoff vodka mixed with a whole load of fancy juices, mixers and even some festive berries is most definitely my kinda ‘jam! I promise it’s not only because they are super pretty to photograph and instagram… but of course that also helps. I wouldn’t say I’m a huge drinker nowadays (10 years ago it was a whole different story!) so for me a little cocktail is just enough to give me a little merry twinkle in my step.

When the guys at Smirnoff got in touch and asked if I fancied putting together a little cocktail guide, of course I had to oblige. You see, I always thought cocktails were a bit too much hassle for me but these are super easy. Each one took just minutes to make and after a little cocktail party with our friends at the weekend (which resulted in a bit of a sore head!) I can tell you now that they went down very well. So here goes, my first ever cocktail guide.

You will need…

Hot Chocolate Mix

Peach Schnapps

Sugar Syrup

Lemonade/Soda

Some juicy Limes

Sugar

Peach Cheer

This is a personal favourite because I just love anything that involves peach. I find this is super refreshing but still has a festive twist. Personally I like it best in a fancy martini glass too…

Ingredients: 25ml Smirnoff Vodka, 25ml peach schnapps, 15ml lime juice, 10ml sugar syrup and some Lemonade/Soda (depending on your preference!)

To make this fruity delight, start by putting the Smirnoff, schnapps, lime juice and sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker. Give it a really good shake (great for letting that tension out!) and pour into a glass – a special martini one, if you can! Top up with lemonade or soda and decorate with some red currants and mint leaves, which look super cute together!

Peppermint Twist Hot Chocolate

So, this is for the hot drink lovers. It involves a tiny bit of Peppermint and a lot of chocolate, which if you ask me.. sounds pretty special.

Ingredients: 50ml Smirnoff Peppermint Twist Liqueur, 200ml hot chocolate,1 dollop of whipped cream & 1 peppermint stick (both optional)

To make this chocolate warmer, simply make yourself a nice warm mug of hot chocolate. Mix in a dash of Smirnoff Peppermint Twist Liqueur and make sure to give it a good stir. If you like you can pop some cream on top with a peppermint stick however, I kept mine simple. Works very nicely with copper spoon to stir and fancy mug…

Christmas Canes

I would say that this creation is for the classic Smirnoff lovers out there. It’s based of a favourite but has it’s own little festive twist and a fun candy addition which is my favourite thing, EVER.

Ingredients: 40ml Smirnoff Vodka, 15ml lime, 10ml sugar, 20ml cranberry juice & a few festive candy canes.

To get creative with this one, simply pour all ingredients into a glass and mix in some mint. Make sure you top with lots of ice and pop a candy cane on the edge of the glass. I like to serve this with the candy cane hanging over the edge and guests can then pop it in for a little sweet treat, or save it for later!

Thank you so much to my friends at Smirnoff for working with me on this post! All views are my own and I now cannot stop making my friends these cocktails. Of course, please remember to drink responsibly – these are simply little Christmas treats!
