MOTHER’S DAY

Mother’s… our best friends, life teachers and excellent huggers. The only bad thing? Absolutely impossible to buy for…

THE MOTHER’S GIFT GUIDE

So, it’s Mothers Day very soon and it’s the one day I find the most difficult to purchase gifts, even though I’m very close to my Mum. It’s not your Mum’s birthday, but it almost is.. very odd. Anyway, I thought this year I’d put together a little gift guide full of nice Mum-themed treats. So if you’re a bit rubbish of thinking of unique ideas after 27 years on the planet (I’ve exhausted all of mine!) hopefully this will help you out. Whether it’s for your Mum, your Grandma or simply yourself (because you deserve a treat, too!) I’m sure there is something here for absolutely everyone! Well, actually.. maybe not your Dad. That’s a whole different story!

THE SCENTED TREATS

Perfume can be quite a personal gift to buy and sure enough, if your Mum is anything like mine she will have bottles hidden everywhere (everywhere!) However, this can still be an incredibly nice and thoughtful present if chosen correctly. Take notice of what your Mum goes for in the shops, if she mentions a perfume she likes but can’t ‘justify’ buying for herself! She might just be dropping obvious hints left, right and center! In the end, it’s all about research… but if you’re still not sure, the above smell pretty damn good too!

THE PAMPER GOODIES

I can imagine being a parent is pretty full on… especially when you’ve done it for a good few years. I can also imagine that the word ‘pamper’ becomes a long lost memory (and that’s no insult to age Mother!) So, I’d say a bunch of bathtime goodies will be a nice treat.. perhaps you could cook dinner one night too, so she has time to use them! I just love these Soap & Glory treats, they’re inexpensive and smell blimmin’ amazing. They do amazing gift boxes and can be found in the really good smelling isle of Boots as well as online. If your Mum is also into perfumes and makeup, they do those too! Sorted!

THE SENTIMENTAL KEEPSAKE

If you’re slightly older yourself (yay for the oldies, me included!) then it’s sometimes nice to spend a little more on your good ol’ Mum. Personally I love sentimental presents and especially something I can keep forever. These stacking rings are perfect for that, and well, how can anyone not like these little gems?! If you’re not too sure on your Mum’s ring size, sneak off and find her jewellery box – there’s plenty of ring sizing apps. Pop her most worn ring on your phone screen and using the app you can find her size! I’m a genius..

THE SKINCARE SAVIOUR

Mum’s like skincare, it’s a given.. but it’s about finding the right type! If you’re planning on going down this route make sure you understand your Mum’s routine. If she doesn’t even have one, then you’re in luck – you can make her one! I love this Babor skincare because it’s a very well trusted brand that uses the finest, most natural active ingredients in their luxury skincare. The Cleansing CP HY-OI & Phytoactive Set is perfect for a two-in-one option & will leave Mum feeling refreshed and revitalised.

I also love how these Triple Booster Fluids look and they are the perfect gift, as they come in a multipack. You simply snap these open and pat onto moisturised skin. They promote cell renewal and leaves skin with a more radiant appearance, basically your Mum will love you.

THE MAKEUP FIX

I recently came across the brand Look Fabulous Forever and I knew it would be the perfect addition to this guide. This brand’s philosophy is that age is no barrier to looking fabulous. Their makeup is aimed at an older audience and is specifically formulated to suit more mature faces, eyes and lips.

I love these little goodies here, the packaging is lovely and doesn’t have an age limit – I would happily pick this up in a store without batting an eyelid! I think this is a special gift, and it shows you’ve put some thought into it. Enjoy Mum – these are all yours! 😉
