Curiouser & Curiouser

Recently, I found myself in Wonderland…

WE’RE ALL MAD HERE

Sometimes on little blog shooting jaunts we come across some wonderful places, some of these are so lovely they could actually be Wonderland. This little spot is one of those beautiful places you wish you could live. We shot on the famous Hylands House grounds, where you would usually see a load of festival goers. We visited on the most beautiful day, the sun was shining (in Winter.. mad, I know!) and for once I was pretty warm, which is always a massive bonus.

Anyway, the real reason we’re all here. This dress from Dolly & Dotty Vintage. I’m not quite sure how to sum this beautiful creature up in just words, but oh wow. It comes with a headband which made me very happy and I think it gives it the perfect finishing touch. So, what else? Well, to start, it is superbly retro (which you guys know I just love!) for mains, it’s bright red and covered in a delicate floral print and, for dessert… I can wear these pink heels with it!

The pink heels are my little pieces of heaven, in footwear form. Whilst I think stocks are low on the ASOS website, they do come in black, so there is still hope. As these heels are platforms they are pretty comfy and easy to walk in… just incase you feel like Bambi in anything higher than 3 inches, like me! Sticking with the retro vibe and pulling out the pink tones in the dress, I think they make perfect companions. Don’t you?

And lastly, for my makeup I popped on some flicked eyeliner, a dab of red blush and of course my all time favourite Chanel lippy.. because if you can’t wear Chanel in Wonderland then when the hell can you?!

HOW LONG IS FOREVER?

A long time, actually. So, when investing in clothes, you want to make sure you’ll love them enough to keep them for good. I often look in my wardrobe and feel stressed – so many clothes, no room for any more and yet I still try my best to fill it up beyond it’s capacity. I have decided I will now only buy forever pieces – items I love and will wear more than once. Basically, it’s all about quality, rather than quantity – which I never thought I’d hear myself say, ha! If i can buy one item I love, instead of ten things I just like, well.. that’s a good start. So, let’s get started on some similarly retro key pieces for our forever wardrobes…

Thank you so much lovely! Just checked out your blog, love it! xx

Stunning photos and backdrop, you must have been freezing though! I totally agree on quality over quantity when it comes to clothes, though I can’t resist a wee Primark bargain.

This is so pretty Laura and absolutely love the dress and the location is perfect. It’s been a while since I bought a dress that comes with a headband and it reminds me of my childhood.
