A little while ago I was asked to be a part of the ASOS Denim Diary, which involved a vintage denim jacket travelling to different bloggers from around the world. The bloggers (including me) were asked to customise the jacket, and sign the inside – of course making sure they took some photos and blogged about it too. I loved the idea of this little jacket travelling the world, so of course I was excited to take part!
Now customising pieces of clothing is so exciting, but you also need to have patience, and a clue what you’re doing – that’s where my lovely Mum got involved! I asked my Mum to help me customise the jacket and this is what we came up with, I just love it! Sticking with the vintage theme, she added lace panels to the back section of the jacket which creates a beautiful textured effect. Also, by adding little sections of lace to the collar and pockets it ties the whole lace vibe together. Customising pieces of denim is definitely the way forward! I would have loved to get some cooler shots of the jacket, but I had to fit this in before I headed off to Norway – so I hope you guys don’t mind this little garden spot! (Who remembers this from the older days of Tiny Twisst?!)
I decided to pair the jacket with a lace top, to stick with the retro, vintage theme. I popped on some black jeans to avoid a double denim this time and also slipped on these amazing studded sandals from Daniel Footwear – I’m trying to wear sandals for as long as I possibly can. Summer is not gone… she says with freezing feet.
