Following on from the tartan obsession I am trying to subtly spread amongst my readers, I thought I’d mix it up and do a little red/black favourites post. Tartan is obviously mostly made up of red, so naturally I have now taken my addiction to the pattern slightly further a field and decided I also love red. Red coats, red shoes and well.. red everything. Obviously this is then evened out by another separate love for leather and black, so all in all.. tartan has inspired me.
So, cape jackets are going to be a big trend this Winter, mix this with a tartan pattern and hey-presto, you are fashion Queen. I love this one from Bon Prix, the shape is gorgeous, an over sized collar and wide sleeves provide the perfect winter cosy cover up, as well as the biggest statement in the easiest of ways. I would most likely pair it with a leather dress and finish it off with some red heels (how amazing are these!? Definitely going on the Christmas wish list..).. not forgetting a bright red lipstick. If you’re going to be embracing the tartan and red trend this Winter, you definitely need to do it wearing a bright red lippy, it’s essential.. trust me.
Accessories are always key in any outfit. This cuff (as featured in my previous post) is a new favourite of mine, it has a modern simplicity to it and still creates a big statement when worn. A belt can sinch you in at the waist in an over sized dress, and the dash of silver detailing just adds to the class of this outfit.
